Heather is a Registered Provisional Psychologist who specializes in children and adolescents. She received her Masters in Counselling Psychology through Yorkville University. Heather has a Bachelor of Education degree and was a teacher for 13 years working with children with moderate to severe special needs. She has extensive experience working with children of all ages and abilities supporting them with trauma, anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, self harm, emotional regulation and other mental health concerns. She uses a variety of therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectal Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused, and mindfulness. She incorporates a play therapy approach with younger clients as well. Heather is also a consultant for the BrainWorks program at the Kids with Cancer Society of Edmonton supporting youth with brain tumors and cognitive delays. She believes that a therapeutic connection and relationship building is essential for healing and is grateful to be a part of other’s healing journeys. In Heather’s spare time, she loves to be with her family and spend as much time outdoors, going on runs, doing yoga, camping and reading.
